Police are searching for thieves who stole a 1,000-pound bell from a historic New Orleans church that was just a few months away from re-opening. The Philadelphia cast-iron bell used to hang in front of the Second Baptist Church in the 2500 block of Marengo, Pastor Robert Jackson said. It was reported stolen on Wednesday.
